Jasper National ParkThis week long adventure includes two days on the Rocky Mountaineer, four nights in the Canadian Rockies and a five day Avis full size rental car with unlimited kilometers.

Pick up the car in Jasper and drop it off in Calgary before you fly home. The car comes with Gypsy Guide audio commentary; it’s like having your own personal travel guide.

Spend two days on the Rocky Mountaineer between Vancouver and Jasper. Spend two nights in Jasper while you explore Jasper National Park, the largest park in the Rockies. Then travel to the Columbia Icefield and the Athabasca Glacier en route to Lake Louise.

Spend a night at the Chateau Lake Louise, and, if you like to take pictures, think about getting up early to photograph the the sun rise, first on the glacier and then on the lake.

If you like to walk, don’t miss the flat trail that shirts the shoreline on the right hand side of the lake. The view of Chateau Lake Louise from the end of the lake is breath taking.

From Lake Louise, you’re only 36 miles from Banff, the most picturesque and lively town in the Canadian Rockies. And from Banff, you are 86 miles from the Calgary International airport where you can drop your car, if you begin in Vancouver, or pick up your car if you begin your adventure in Calgary.

This rail and drive package begins with an overnight stay in Vancouver on various dates from May 2 to October 3, 2011.
