Vancouver Transportation Overview

Vancouver has an unusually wide assortment of transportation options. Of course you can fly in and out of its world class international airport, YVR, ranked third in the world by business passengers. You can also drive in or come by bicycle, bus, train or ferry.

Vancouver has three airports including Vancouver International, the downtown float plane terminal and the float plane terminal located at the South terminal of the airport. It also has a heliport.

Once you arrive, you can get around by float plane, helicopter, tram, large and small ferries, bus, limousine, SeaBus, SkyTrain and light rail.

You can explore by canoe, kayak, power boat, Zodiac, jet ski or sailboat. You can take buses, shuttle buses, taxis, trolleys, horse drawn conveyance or the SkyTrain to get from place to place includint the airport.

Ironically, with all these options, the best way to get around Vancouver and the North Shore is often by foot. Vancouver has some of the best trails, paths, suspension bridges, boardwalks and walkways in the world.
