Getting To Victoria

There are many ways to get to Victoria. You can fly by float plane, drive/ferry or bus/ferry to Victoria.

	1. Fly from Vancouver's Coal Harbour to Victoria's downtown Inner Harbour by float plane or helicopter. The flight takes about 35 minutes. There are more than 30 daily float plane flights between Vancouver and Victoria for CDN$134 each way + 5% tax per person.

2. Take the ferry from Vancouver to Victoria. BC Ferries leave from Tsawwassen, 38kms/24 miles south of Vancouver. Ferries leave every hour in the summer and every two hours from September to May. The crossing takes about 90 minutes.

To get to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal, drive south on Oak Street to Highway 99 and south on 99 to Highway 17. (Tsawwassen, by the way, is pronounced 'Ta wa sen' with the accent on the second syllable.)

3. Take the bus to Tsawwassen then the ferry to Victoria. Pacific Coach Lines offers bus/ferry service daily to Victoria from Vancouver's Pacific Central Station at 1150 Station Street near Main and Terminal. The SkyTrain Main Street Station is only half a block from Pacific Central Station. Be sure to take the Pacific Central Station exit from the SkyTrain, not the Science World exit. Round trip bus/ferry service is about $78 CDN per person.

4. Take public buses to Tsawwassen, then the ferry, then public buses from Swartz Bay to Victoria or the Butchart Gardens.
From Swartz Bay, take the #70 bus to Sydney. Take the #75 from Sydney to the Butchart Gardens or stay on the 70 and it will take you to downtown Victoria. If you want to go from downtown Victoria to the Butchart Gardens, take the #75 bus.
You can take the #601 bus from the corner of Howe and Robson to the Ladner Exchange. From bay #1 take the #640 to the BCFerry terminal at Tsawwassen. The trip will take about an hour and costs C$3.50 per person.
Take the BC Ferry to Swartz Bay. BCFerry fares are C$10.50 per person each way.

At Swartz Bay, catch the #70 bus to Sydney. Transfer to the #75 in Sydney to the Butchart Gardens, or stay on the 70 and it will take you to downtown Victoria. If you want to go from downtown Victoria to the Butchart Gardens, take the #75 bus. If you have any questions, ask the bus drivers, they are very helpful.
