Departing from BCFerries Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal, the trip to Bowen Island takes 20 minutes. You'll arrive in Snug Cove harbour. where you can take advantage of the Snug Cove restaurants, pubs, gift shops, specialty stores and artists' studios and fantastic scenery.
For lunch try Doc Morgan's Restaurant and Pub, the Bowen Island Pub, the Snug Coffee House and Café, Blue Eyed Mary's Bistro and the Breakfast Cafe, all located on the left hand side of the road. Stop in at Lily Hooper's Cottage for High Tea and antiques.
At the top of the street and to your right, visit the Bowen Island Museum and Archives to see exhibits, watch a video of Bowen Island in the 50's and explore a 40s logger's cottage.
Crippen Regional Park is the starting point for the Killarney Lake Trail. The trail is wide and fairly level, with only a few steep sections. If you want a leisurely walk, allow for 90 minutes to 2 hours for the 6 km round trip.
You should be sure to save time for a visit to Artisan Square, with artisan shops and Le Mangerie restaurant. Buses are available every 15 minutes, costs $2.00 per person and bus tickets are valid for 1.5 hours.
