This all day tour combines the natural beauty of Vancouver’s North Shore with the urban beauty of Vancouver’s cosmopolitan downtown core.
Begin your day with a visit to the best of the North Shore: Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park and Grouse Mountain.
You’ll have nearly two hours to explore the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park. Cross the amazing 450 foot Capilano Suspension Bridge, stretched over the Capilano River raging 230 feet below you.
Take the Cliff Walk’s cantilevered and suspended walkways out over the canyon. In places you’re walking on glass, just to make sure you don’t miss any of the scenery. The Cliff Walk is narrow and exhilarating. (I took my very brave dog on the Cliff Walk and it gave him pause (paws?)
If you haven’t had enough of heights, take the Tree Top Adventure. After what you’ve been through, it will feel like a walk in the park. Actually, it is a walk in the park.
Before you go, be sure to watch native carvers working on totem poles, and explore one of Vancouver’s most extensive gift shops or have a snack at the Logger’s Grill or Canyon Cafe.
Then it’s off to Grouse Mountain and another experience with altitude. This time it’s the Grouse Mountain Skyride, an 8 minute journey to the top of Grouse Mountain where you’ll find a Grizzly Bear refuge and you’ll have the chance to watch the two resident grizzlies, Coola and Grinder, show off for the visitors.
Grouse Mountain also features a Lumberjack Show, a a scenic chairlift ride with great views of Vancouver far below, the Theatre in the Sky showing a video of Vancouver from an eagle’s perspective.
There will even be time to visit the Eye of the Wind, a giant wind turbine that supplies part of the power on Grouse Mountain (admission extra).
At the conclusion of your time on the top of Grouse Mountain, you’ll take the Skyride down the mountain, board your bus and return to Vancouver.
After a break, you’ll tour Vancouver’s highlights including Stanley Park, English Bay, Chinatown, Gastown, and Coal Harbour. At the conclusion of this memorable experience, you’ll be delivered to your hotel.
