Overview

The two day Rocky Mountaineer train journey to or from the Canadian Rockies is the shortest Rocky Mountaineer train trip available, and the basis for all Rocky Mountaineer packages.

A two day package is just right if you have limited time or wish to create your own Canadian Rockies itinerary.

If you want to Do It Yourself, once we make your train reservations, we can help with all the other elements of your trip: getting around in the Rockies, finding things to do and places to stay while you’re there.

Two day train service is available in both directions between Vancouver and Banff, Vancouver and Calgary, Vancouver and Jasper and Whistler and Jasper.

Trains depart Vancouver for Banff on Mondays and Fridays. They depart Banff for Vancouver on Sundays and Wednesdays. Trains depart Vancouver for Calgary each Friday. They depart Calgary for Vancouver each Sunday.

Trains depart Vancouver for Jasper on Tuesdays and Fridays; they depart Jasper for Vancouver on Sundays and Thursdays. Trains depart Whistler for Jasper on Mondays and Jasper for Whistler on Wednesdays.

Please note there are additional departures in May and some exceptions to these departures in other months, so check the schedule below before making flight reservations.

  • RedLeaf Service – Reserved seating in comfortable, traditional passenger cars with picture windows. Breakfast and lunch are served at your seat each day with complimentary wine or beer with lunch.
  • SilverLeaf Service – Reserved seating in single level dome cars with expansive window area. Hot breakfast and lunch are served at your seat each day with complimentary wine or beer with lunch.
  • GoldLeaf Service – Reserved seating in the GoldLeaf elevated dome car. Breakfast and lunch are served in the GoldLeaf dining car and GoldLeaf passengers have access to the outdoor viewing platform. Alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages on the train and overnight accommodations are included. in Kamloops.
