This week long rail circle vacation begins and ends in Vancouver. You’ll travel two distinct routes on two unique trains and stay in Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff.
Begin with and evening departure and a night on the train in a private bedroom. The following morning you awake to magnificent scenery and a hot breakfast in the dining car.
You’ll have the day to enjoy the scenery and explore the train’s varied environments, from your private room to the lounge, club car and observation car before you arrive in Jasper at 4:00 in the afternoon.
You’ll spend two nights in Jasper National Park, the largest park in the Canadian Rockies, and during you free day, you’ll visit the Jasper Tramway with its high alpine environment and enjoy evening wildlife viewing on your way to and from Miette Hot Springs. Other tour options include Maligne Canyon and Maligne Lake tour with a boat trip to Spirit Island or free time on your own to enjoy the scenery and see the sights.
From Jasper, you’ll travel by motor coach to Lake Louise. Along the way you’ll sight see and stop at the Columbia Icefield for a ride onto the Athabasca Glacier. You’ll reach your destination, Lake Louise in the late afternoon and check into your lake view room at the Chateau Lake Louise.
After a night at the Chateau, you will tour Yoho National Park and Emerald Lake before arriving in Banff National Park where you’ll have time to see the town after you’ve checked into your hotel. After a night in Banff, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the Banff train station where you’ll board the Rocky Mountaineer for your two day train journey to Vancouver.
