Calgary and Vancouver are separated by the Canadian Rockies, so it makes sense that if you want to get from one destination to the other, and you're not in a big hurry, the best way to do it is by taking the train through the Rockies from Calgary to Vancouver or vice versa.
The shortest trip between Calgary and Vancouver takes two days and begins in Calgary or Vancouver each Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from early April to mid October.

PLEASE NOTE: There are no one day or overnight train trips between Vancouver and Calgary on the Rocky Mountaineer, and there are no other trains that travel between Vancouver and Calgary. .

Two or Four Day Tour: Calgary to Vancouver
These tours include two days on the Rocky Mountaineer® between Vancouver and Calgary with an overnight stay in Kamloops en route. The tour is considered two days if you don't include overnight stays in Vancouver and Calgary.
On the other hand, the tour is considered a four day tour if you include overnight stays in Vancouver and Calgary and transfers between the train and hotels in each destination.
Because the trains depart early and arrive at the end of the day, having your transfer and hotel already arranged makes for convenience and peace of mind.

Canadian Rockies Holiday
The seven night / eight day Canadian Rockies Holiday is the only tour we offer that begins and ends in Calgary. And it is the only circle tour that can be done with only two days on the train, and both train days are spent in the Canadian Rockies.

This nine day tour includes Rocky Mountaineer®'s newest routes and a ride on the Whistler Mountaineer.
