Vancouver and Calgary are the two largest cities served by the Rocky Mountaineer. Many people want to travel between Vancouver and Calgary, and for the best scenery and the most memorable trip, the train is the best way to travel. Rocky Mountaineer trains leave both Vancouver and Calgary from late April to early October.
One of the great things about traveling by Rocky Mountaineer between Vancouver and Calgary is that both cities have major international airports so it's easy to fly into one and fly out from the other.
And since Banff National Park is only 86 miles from Calgary and is serviced by a shuttle that goes between Banff and Calgary International Airport, it is easy to get to the Canadian Rockies very quickly from Calgary.
